The house is situated at the rustic northern edge of Jiuxian village on a small stone pathway where buffaloes and old farmers slowly pass by. At the backside of the house is a green mountain with bamboo and some big trees. Opposite and next to the house are traditional brown mudbrick farmhouses as well as a new tall building with traditional Chinese courtyard, belonging to a well-known local painter.

Jiuxian village is nestled deep in the much photographed Yulong River Valley, not far from this clear, by riceterraces and limestone peaks surrounded waterway. The village is about 9 km. from Yangshuo Town.

The Yulong River Valley is located in Yangshuo County, which belongs to the greater Guilin area. It’s in Guangxi province, southern China, bordered by Vietnam to the south.
